Thinking Spring

We are anxious for spring and ready for cold and flu season to be over. And ready for the snow to melt. So ready.

It was lovely to catch a glimpse of spring mid February with temperatures in the fifties for several days.

We took advantage and ventured outside as much as possible. Ellie explored every puddle that crossed our paths, happily stomping her feet and squealing with each splash.

It was so great to get outside without fifteen layers and a without a waddling toddler in a snowsuit barely able to keep up in tow. Without the layers the girl can cruise.

She ran and ran. Watching her, I couldn't help but smile at her excitement and for all that spring will bring: a return to the park, long walks in the wagon, flowers, fishing...just to name a few.

The break from winter was welcome. But the reality is we have a way to go until spring arrives, especially after that last storm...

And so while we wait for spring to arrive, we pile up books and snuggle under a blanket to read "Goodnight Moon" for the 5,286th time...

...and daydream about our vacation next week!
