We had dinner with friends, Nate and Janna - who we hadn't seen in almost two years (seriously!). So great to catch up and hear about their upcoming wedding plans. Ellie was all smiles for her new friends and resisted going to bed for a few hours. It's like she knew there was something fun going on and didn't want to miss out on anything.
A nearby neighborhood had its annual garage sale on Saturday morning. A more accurate description would be garage sale extravaganza. No lie - here's the map:
Friends, Paul and Adria, brought bagels over early so we could come up with a strategy. We were out the door before 8 a.m. It was a rainy, cool morning but Ellie was snug in the Baby Bjorn (I stayed warm, too!). She was bundled up and under my raincoat to stay dry, dozing on and off.

We found this beauty and had to have it:Someone at some point actually paid $12.99 for this - I figured I couldn't pass it up for $.25.
Yes. It seriously says that.
Brian's cousin, Martha, is getting married in Mexico on May 14th. Unfortunately, we won't be able to be there, but Ellie and I went to her bridal shower on Saturday afternoon, hostessed by Auntie Monica and Grandma Mary Clare.

Right: Auntie Monica & Ellie
Ellie and I became members of Lord of Life Lutheran Church, a church that I've been attending for about a year and a half, on Sunday. Super excited about this. There are a lot of young families in the church and the pastor is fabulous. Feels like home.
Our nephew, Sam, had his First Communion yesterday afternoon. I had never attended a First Communion Mass before and it was beautiful.
We about collapsed last night - we were so tired. But not before a few bedtime stories:
Spending time with the people we love is enriching - and our weekend was packed with both family and friends. Couldn't feel more blessed.
Have a great week!
