Recovering

When we live this close, four months is way too long to be away from "home". I missed the country, the lakes, the quiet, family, and friends.

And Ellie is seeing it all for the first time.

She didn't want to miss a thing - so she barely slept and made this mama work hard. But it was worth it just to see the joy she brings to the people who love her. I love to see her loved.

Ellie with Great-Grandma Eleanor

Great Grandma had us all over for dinner on Saturday - homemade kraut and ribs and lemon meringue pie. And lots of love.

Kisses from Great Uncle Kelley

All the toys in the world couldn't entertain Ellie - but this measuring cup did the trick. I'm sure Grandpa had a lot to do with that big smile, though.

Four generations

We couldn't have asked for better weather. It was gorgeous all weekend.

And now, we are recovering from the whirlwind weekend and looking forward to many more just like it this summer.
