Last Thursday we noticed that Ellie sounded a little stuffy. By Friday morning she had a horrible cold and slight fever.
She had more snot coming out of her nose than I have ever seen. Amazing amounts.
Luckily, this girl of ours is pretty content on a regular basis so we got through the weekend just fine. By Sunday morning she was feeling much better and the edge of a tooth was peeking through those swollen gums.
We even made an afternoon trip to the farm at the zoo near our house.
We learned that goats have weird rectangle-pupils.
Ellie loved petting the goats. She saw them and immediately said..."kee-ee", which translates to kitty.
To her, all animals are kitties. She first said kitty over the 4th of July weekend. My parents have two cats and two dogs. And Ellie loves them - especially the gray cat who is the only animal brave enough to get close to a hair-pulling child. Other than dada (and sometimes hi and mama) it is the only word she will consistently repeat if we say it first.
It brings me so much joy to see her grow and learn - and it has been so rewarding to play with her like we're kids again.
