The 4th

We had an amazing 4th of July weekend.

It was perfectly summer-y.

Family. Friends. Sunshine. Swimming.

Corn on the cob. Evening thunderstorms. Blooming lilies.

Watermelon. Potato salad. Mr Freezes.

Boating. Strawberry pie. Parades.

Ellie watching her first parade.

Especially gotta love parades with tractors as one of the main attractions.

Grandpa Larry and Uncle John

Aly and Ellie

Love.

Ellie rode in the boat for the first time. In a moment of horror - we realized we forgot the camera. This may be no big deal for some. But for those who really know us, this is an extremely important first for Ellie. Luckily, we have cameras on our phones so we were able to document the moment.

Most importantly, she loved it. And Daddy was so proud.

The weekend was extra-special because several family VIPs were in town - Zach, Aly, Tim, and Salum. You are missed when you are away, but I must say get-togethers are much more special when you are all there.

I love holidays. And the 4th of July is no exception. So much celebrating. Although, we were too tired to see the fireworks this year - (boo us!).

And holidays are so much better now - watching our girl experience them for the first time. And, despite a few longer-nap-needed moments, she loved the festivities.

And, finally, Brian woke to this scene on Monday morning -

Hope you all had a fabulous Independence Day!

P.S. Aly - Congrats on your decision to attend medical school! Sooooo proud of you!
